OUR COLUMNIST VSOCOLSKY REACTS TO THE ARTICLE AND VIDEO ON FASHION BLOGS AND THE FACT THAT NARCISSISM SEEMS TO BE ALL AROUND:

Fashion has flooded every corner of today’s world. Kids as young as 10 have already started taking pictures of their looks, they post and share them via facebook and by doing so, in a way, they feel empowered by some sort of notoriety or fame, which seems to me their ultimate goal. As much as I dislike Warhol, I have to recognize that today more than ever people only want to get 10 minutes of fame. Privacy is out of fashion. Everybody is ready to publicly display its own intimacy in the name of …fame???
Personally I think this whole phenomenon of taking a picture of every single thing/act/moment of our lives is a desperate, silly attempt to leave a printed ephemera of our presence in the world, just like screaming out loud “I’m/ was here and I don’t want to be forgotten”. Poor choice…’
