SWISS ARTIST ANGELA LYN IS UNIMPRESSED ABOUT THE ‘LOSING THE VIRGINITY’ PERFORMANCE AT THE CENTRAL SAINT MARTIN’S:
‘I find thinking about the questions of what is lost and what is found in the Clayton & Partner Case just so sad. The one side of me thinks poor art students- what has happened to our creative youth to become so desperately numb? Maybe someone will be kind and give them a warm blanket when they have finished performing. The other side thinks: ahh savvy savvy entrance to the art stage…maybe I should join Clayton and do a performance of feeding my 89 year old dement mother in law: I mean after all, old age might hit the taboo gong spot on: just imagine a white cube space, filled with an undulating landscape of dirty adult size diapers, over cast in dim (aesthetic) lighting, subtly enhancing the shit and a Paris Hilton Poster folded into an (aesthetic) paper airplane dangling above it all. Might be a winner! And even if it wasn’t I could do it anyway (for my grandchildren, that they know I was really out there, cool cutting edge granny… )
O Clayton, please take better care of you if you want to give life and meaning to your art.
