OUR COLUMNIST BAMBALL ON FRANCO:
‘James Franco can simultaneously be everywhere, and nowhere.
Surprised she didn’t have an assistant go find two dozen naked and starving homeless children, gold lead them all from head to toe, to show how society and the corporate culture exploits all naked starving homeless children. Then sends them out to serve alcoholic drinks to the faithful gallery full of monies collectors. At a pre appointed time, an ice cream cart rings it’s bell all the way to the center of the gallery, where the vendor, dressed as a golden Wizard of Oz hipster, hands out sharp knives to all the gold-leafed starving children who look confused, until they notice a single large sausage descending from the ceiling slowly into their starving midst. Surrounded by horrified art patrons, the golden children descend into a bloody anarchy trying to get a piece of the sausage to satisfy their hungry souls. Marina stands on the edge, urging the children to fight on, for art, for survival and to show the world how beautiful gold leaf can be when supporting the “correct” conceptualists, like herself.’
