SWISS ARTIST ANGELA LYN REACTS TO MY TEXT ON REINHARDT ONNASCH’S COLLECTION (AT HAUSER & WIRTH PICADILLY) IN THE FOLLOWING WAY:

‘I like this text Rodrigo. it uncovers something without wanting to make itself important. I also saw this show and felt oddly compassionate towards the young man. Him sitting there amidst those objects was difficult, pathetic. I spontaneously blurted out to him: boy you must be lonely up here! An instinctive response to jolt the flatness. I tried to work at seeing the objects: the surfaces, the dislocated presence: but it all had a lack of energy: maybe thats why it needed explaining. I felt the space did’nt work. It appeared contrived. The most active thought I had, was wanting to take the orange, wondering if the young guard would notice, and wondering how many people had already done this. Pretty silly..tja.’
