OUR COLUMNIST AVILA SAYS:

‘A few minutes ago a customer brouth a miteorite that landed in Argentina (from all places) about 200 years ago, pulled from space by Eart’s gravity… When I holded it, I felt the inmensity of the universe on my hands, just by pure contact… For some reason humans think that living in a consumerism society doesn’t have a drag on people, but it does… Being surrounded by objects that don’t mean much has a peculiar and not particularly good influence on humans…

The act of creation is in its nature a violent act: a rupture and explosive vomit of ideas. But is in the artist’s interest (as well as society’s) exemplifying that creation as a synthesis and selection of thoughts to empower the significance of that creative act. And that takes experience (knowledge-repetition), work (pain) and humility (will to seek the truth)… Once that’s in the cards, the rest is matter of gravity… and of course, it would help if society’s common sense would appreciate the effort…
