ARTIST TIM MAXWELL SAYS ABOUT THIS WEEK’S ‘THE PILL’:

‘You’re really f$ckin digging in to your subject. So, again, a show I typically would shun with total indifference and irrelevance you make compelling. I’m hemispherically and (I admit ) historically challenged and would never think of geometric abstraction, constructivism and Latin America under the same rubric. Neo Plasticism and the Bauhaus school as post World War II European imports to South America (into Latin America) with the utopian hope and baggage makes complete sense. And how these utopian ideas are at total odds with the geo-political climate in this region in the last half century making this show conceptually fractured, historically unaware, and/ or just lazy. Only goal seemed to be to curate a feel good bubble wrapped show. Interesting.

(That Alister Smart (?) sounds like one myopic euro centric schmuck.)

(Keep sharing these, I learn. Thank you.)’
